...Hi, Well to answer your questions 1.- I`ts tricky ...but basically I draw a sketch then I use some color gradients on Illustrator CS3 to ad color and texture then ad some shades and grain filter in photoshop to give that retro appearence...also look for inspiration in various art deco posters.
2.- The Fonts are MARKET DECO for the tagline and ANDES BOLD and TALLDECO NORMAL you can find those here: [link]
Ohh Yes. This is great. I think a Lantern film shot with this kind of outlook would WORK. The tagline added at the bottom is too lengthy for my taste though. I just saw a leaked Entertainment Weekly Cover of Ryan Reynolds as GL in the new movie. It's saddening. Great job though.
Thanks! Yep I also think maybe the tagline is too long or the font is too big, the space is always an issue regarding text. I also just seen the Green Lantern look on a magazine and I sympatize with you although I dig the organic concept of the costume but the mask he uses in the film looks kind of cheap...like they just painted over his face...looks weird, But I trust they make a decent flick thanks again
Hey thanks a lot for the comments and the fave, well to achieve this look , first I traced the sketch from the original pencil to vectors in illustrator CS, then I started apply colors using the gradient tools, ( and create enough variety of greens so the image doesnt look flat) ... with the gradient tool u can achieve too much with so little, just check out how much and where the lights are located.
